Happy
October Families!
Here
in the preschool room, we have been as busy as the changing weather this
week! Reading stories, building
structures, playing board games and creating maps! The picture on the bottom left is a map of
our classroom! I added pictures from
different areas in the room and then had the children add on areas and
materials that were missing. The best
part about this activity was the conversation that happened while we were
drawing. Our big map will be displayed
in the classroom so the kids can revisit and continue to add on.
This
activity sparked an interest in creating maps of our homes! We had homes and streets drawn…such great
minds and attention to detail. We will
continue to discuss maps and creating maps for next week. I believe we have a few children interested
in creating treasure maps! What
fun! I wonder where we will find our treasure.
It
was nice to spend some time with families last night during our Open
House. Always a good thing for children
to come and play in the classroom with their families. It builds a nice connection between home and
school.
Tomorrow
is a big day for the school with the Annual Harvest Fair happening on the front
lawn of the high school from 10-4! Come
join in on the fun! This event benefits
all of the children in the school! Great
vendors along with food and a visit with the Ludlow Fire Department! Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day!
